what will really happen in 2012?
hi i have a huge problem and dont know who to turn to so maybe someone out their will help i have a terrible fear thats taking over my life that something really bad will happen in 2012 the world will end when i really dont want it too iv heard so many stories and even in everyday life 2012 is everywhere i cant get away from it now its really worring me iv tried talking to friends and family they say im crazy and come 2013 we will all still be here and also iv started having night terrors about witnising the end of the world comets coming nuclear war seeing the clouds form crosses im getting to the stage im scared to sleep can some one help me who can i turn to about thise fear as its no normal fear its more like a terrile phobia now i have a new baby neice and i really want to see her grow up so what will happen in 2012 and is their anyone i can talk to face to face please help me

Stupid Mayans. Who do they think they are stopping the calendar on 2012? So what, all the planets will be aligned in the solar system, its happened before 630,000 (I forget) years ago. We don’t see remains of torn apart animals in the ground, do we. The Earth is supposed to "eat itself".

people say that the world will end just cuz the mayan calendar ended….. that doesnt mean anything. who knows maybe the mayans died off before they could extend it any further because they actually killed themselves… i think it was to the sun god or something but everyday they sacrificed one person to please some god… but the world will not end in 2012… now its like 2028 or something like that you wanna worry about cuz theres been a prediction of an asteroid or comet that will pass between the earth and the moon and maybe hit one… if it misses it will be back in 7 years… so dont worry about anything it will be fine

There’s absolutely nothing to worry about because it’s totally made-up nonsense. Not a word of it is true. There is not a single scrap of scientific evidence to back up any of the doomsday claims. They are the work of drop-outs, drug addicts, liars and the mentally unbalanced.
The only astronomical event on 21st December 2012 will be the solstice, the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere.
And that’s it.
The rest of it is pseudoscience, lies, paranoia and fraud, most of it in order to fleece the gullible of their hard-earned cash by selling them useless survival books and kits.

Well firstly the whole basis of this 2012 nonsense, is the end of the Mayan Long Count Calender, but the Mayans made no special reason for this end, its just the end of there calender, the Mayans at no point stated "the world will come to the end at the end of our calender", if you asked a Mayan descendant, he will probably have no idea what your on about. with this in a account there Basis of this nonsense is gone, and without a base, nothing can stand, as this cant.

sorry if this confuses you. it was an answer i made for someone who was worried about 2012 and 2036. this is ‘disproving’ what will happen. in a way =P
aw i know how you feel. trust me. sometimes i sit up and cry because i think like ‘what if it does happen?’ this is going to be long but i hope it comforts you. i know that people are just like ‘it wont happen. youre stupid’ stuff like that. and you want to hear from someone that believes. wellllll thats partially me =] i have bad anxiety and i have panic attacks alll the time and worry about EVERYTHING. really everything. so yeah. long but hopefully will help =P
theres still a part of me that wants to prepare but most likely nothing will happen. i look up like the evidence backing all of the theories and it scares the crap out of me. but if you look up why it WONT happen theres so much evidence toward that too. im swaying toward that mostly. that it wont happen. just think of all the times it was supposed to happen.
when people tried to talk me out of it i was like ‘but the mayans, the hopi, nostradomus, they all have accurate prophecies, or they have so far’ but with some reasearch i found that that probably wasnt the truth. people have basically twisted nostradomus’s words and stuff to make it fit what happens.

also, nostradomus. the same ‘prediction’ he had for 2012 has also been used for something else! so that kind of disproves all that stuff.

the 2036 stuff. apophis. i know some about apophis because i want to be an astronomer =] so i read about all that stuff. in 2013 apophis will come real close to earth and in 2029 its gonna come close and in 2036 its supposed to take us out. well read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/99942_Apophis =P go down to the history of impact estimates down toward the bottom and stuff and it may help you feel a little less worried about that. you can read the whole thing if you want, like me =]
i had this dream. i wanted to talk to an astronomer and a big christian about 2012. to hear from scientific and religious sides. the religious side doesnt believe it. they say nobody knows when the world will end, not even the angels in heaven. and as for the science opinion… http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/ask-an-astrobiologist/intro/nibiru-and-doomsday-2012-questions-and-answers this vid made me feel better =] you can google ‘2012 wont happen’ and click on the first thing that pops up. it basically says its all a scam for money (which really makes sense when you think about all the shows, all the movies, all the books, all the people trying to sell things to prepare, etc.)
